What is Groups and Guilds Day?
About every other month we hold a unique event called Groups & Guilds Day. At least 50 active Social, Help, Persona Play and Roleplay Groups set up booths and are there all day to meet potential new members and let you ask questions. This is an excellent place to find the best group for you to call home on Furcadia. There are interviews with the Groups on the Event Channel throughout the day and often a talk and Q&A session by top game staff. This is a "must attend" event! |
What fun events are there to do?
Furcadia has fun events run by either staff, Beekins or players, going on most every day. There is everything from Event Beekin Pillow Fights to one of the yearly Festivals of the Primes, from player run Roleplay events to Dreamweaving classes. You can usually find something interesting to attend along with your friends or make new friends there. |
How do I find out when and where?
There are many ways to find out what events are going on. The News Tab on your interface shows Furcadia wide events. There are news announcements that show up in your Text Screen several times a day. Many upcoming events are posted on the Community Forums too. One really good way to find out events though is the Community Calendar. |
What is FST? | |
Most events are posted in FST or Furcadia Standard Time. This is the same time as Central US, which is the same time zone as the Furcadia servers. You can tell what time it is in FST by typing "Time" into the Text Input Box. |
What is the News Channel?
The News Channel lets you know about upcoming events several times a day. You will see them show up on your Text Screen. If the announcement says [Player Sponsored] it is run by another player like you. Those labled as [FUN] are run by the Event Beekins. The [DEP Sponsored] events are game wide staff run events. You can toggle your News Channel off and on by typing =news in the Text Input Box. |
How do I turn on the Event Channel?
Sometimes when an official DEP event is going on it will be broadcast over the Event Channel. You might hear events like a contest award shows or be able to participate in a trivia contest to win Digos. There will usually be a News Channel announcement telling you to turn on the Event Channel. Toggle it off and on by typing =event. |
Who are the Events Beekins?
The Event Beekins are a select few of our most experienced Beekins who hold small, fun activities on most days. They might put together events like a dream hopping tour or a greased tusker race. They give out small Digo prizes during the event like muffins and roses. Listen to the News Channel for when a [FUN] event is announced. |
What is the FUN Channel?
The Event Beekins run the FUN Channel during their activities. It is like the Events Channel though generally you need to be where the event is taking place to participate. You type =fun to toggle this channel on and off. |
What are the festivals?
There are at least six large official festivals each year. Four of these are seasonal and accompanied by contests, sales, give-aways and many events. The main ones are Jujinka's Spring Festival, Festival of the Sun, Wolf Howl and Danival's Winter Festival. Some of the smaller festivals include the Asian New Year (ANY) Festival, The Sweetheart Ball, The Rameen Festival and the Founders' Day Celebration. Most of these events are held in the Festival Grounds which you can find on your Maps Screen. Don't miss these Festivals full of pageantry, excitement and the rich history of Furcadia. Check the forums, News and Community Calendar for when these take place. |
Where is the Festival Grounds?
You can get to the Festival Ground from your Maps Screen or enter the portal on the Vinca. Often event maps are loaded to the Vinca Nexus! |
How do I enter the official contests?
Throughout the year you will find many official contests that you can enter to have fun, show off your creativity and win DragonScales. The contests vary, though there's usually a Dream Contest and often different kinds of writing and art contests. Other contests might include poetry, coloring, funny sayings, picture captions, music, sound effects, video and much more. There's really a contest for everyone. To enter, watch for the contests to be announced and follow the guidelines carefully. Most importantly though, have fun creating! |
What are these [Player Sponsored] events?
Furcadia is all about what you, the players, create. Many Groups, Dreams and individuals hold frequent events of various types. These events might be things like creation workshops, guild anniversaries, parties, festivals of their own, carnivals, contests, Roleplay events and so much more. Players can get these events announced for free on the News Channel if their event is of interest to a large number of Furcadians. |
Can I hold events? | |
Anyone on Furcadia can put together an event and hold it for just their friends or for larger groups. Usually you need a dream set up to have the event in so it is probably best to plan this on you home computer. You can announce your event on the News channel, Furcadia Events forum or on the community calendar. |
What is the history of April 1st on Furcadia?
You never know what you'll wake up to on April first in Furcadia. Past oddities have included having the playscreen flip upside down, furres talking backward, turning into toasterwings or pink mice. Even the fabled 34-bit update! Watch out for the Furcadia staffs' sense of humor! |
